Hi Buddy..I just finished 2 sepia paintings I want to share with you today. I knew I'd be visisting my parents in August and needed to have some g-rated art to work on. I found Anton Chekhov (the one without the hat) and an unknown actor on My Daguerrotype Boyfriend. Anton is on claybord, 11x14 and the Actor is on 9x12 paper. I'll share a clearer pic of the Actor soon.

Hi Buddy..apologies for having been away for a while..I have been painting and will have many new pieces to share with you..for the moment here are some self portrait variations I've been painting. The original was from the happiest photo of me I'd seen in a while..so I made some archival prints on the same watercolor paper the original was done in. After spending time painting extra life into myself I painted first a "Howdy Dooit" type sunbeam behind me with dyes and watercolor, then made a "Mickey Rodent" version..and finally a Tibetan influenced version, watercolor including one with pigment ground from Sleeping Beauty turquoise.

I had to adapt these paintings for tshirt usage..I'll be sharing the 2 versions for you to enjoy (there are 3 designs so far). I made a print on watercolor paper then repainted the image to my satisfaction.

hi buddy..as promised, this is the first variation of my latest painting "Cop Salute". I wanted to leave the background white in my original painting so I made 2 giclees to paint the background on..I used a mix of copper pigments and transparent dyes with varigated gold and copper leaf. I ended up painting the Cop out wntirely again to make the colors more intense. I hope you enjoy it.

Hi Buddy! I bring news today..as you remember, I've been working on my archival MANCARDS as a way to offer you signed and numbered sets of archival prints of my paintings as I prepare them for my first art book. I've been finishing set 2 which I'll present this week. Unfortunately I underestimated the cost of archival inks as I've stepped up my printing and the $21 (US) price I set is not going to be sustainable. I'm going to keep this introductory price through November 30, and raising it thereafter, probably to 35 ultimately. The prints are gorgeous, and at 1200 dots per inch, present every detail perfectly.

I've been working on additional products that I'm ready to start sharing with you, such as my 2011 calendar (sexy version) and the version I designed for general audiences that you can preview here.

And there is more. I set up the blog Beard Street a few years ago to be my storefront, and am finally ready to start using it. I will have some new cards to present as well as my hairy man art on a variety of objects I've created over the years (and offered at reasonable prices ;). Hopefully something new as many days as I can, many one of a kind objects. Love, William

given a thorough painting with water over the watercolor pencil pigments to prepare it for the rigors 1200 dot per inch scanning will demand..I've just printed it for the upcoming MANCARDS Set 2 as I march towards the Hairyartist Volume 1 art book. I'm really happy with the results, and bringing them to you as affordable miniature art prints is fun and satisfying as I continue down my path of love and hair..thanks for your support!

I'm working on a publication project and preparing 'final' scans of some of my favorite paintings and drawings (more details to be released soon). Upon looking at my work blown up to 1200 pixels per inch will involve further refinements to be made to each work and this is the first. I painted his eyes and all the hair on his head and 3 hairs on his body ;) with sumi ink, several coats until I could see definition and thickness of the layers. The tattoos got some work also. I'm hoping to prepare one of these each weekday with a surprise when I get to number 9.

I am still recovering after visiting my parents in Indiana..they keep their house too hot for me to sleep so I'd arranged a hotel room. I'd stayed there before many times but this time I woke up with a terrible allergic reaction (most likely from the laundry soap they used on the sheets). I'm still dealing with it 2 weeks later with antihistamines. it's not serious but I have no energy and still am breaking out in red blotches from even small movements (taking a lot of benadryl). I also broke my computer during these events. my replacement just arrived. The good news is that my artwork is growing and I am able to work on drawings still..I'm hardly able to get out of bed at the moment. sending you lots of love.

this is my second round with my buddy I've painted 4 times before, this time on canvas. I'd previously painted the details and yesterday mixed transparent dyes with acrylic gloss medium to get the colors more brilliant. I did all I could before the previous paint started lifting up.
